>>1584113The notion of her friend helping her with, well, anything ever again was striking her as pretty unlikely, but given this officer was actively looking for her, the odds of him hearing her out seemed just about non-existent... and the only thing worse than her plight would be taken to jail while enduring it.
So while the man across from her was occupied with the radio at his shoulder, she did among the least rational things imaginable; she ran... another sensation she was becoming unpleasantly accustomed to. She had no intention of running past him, and clear into the street, so she went back the way she came into the alley, rushing blindly around the corner as she stumbled on her bare feet, intent on keeping her arms set in place across her breasts and between her thighs all the while. She had no intention of sacrificing her modesty to escape, even as she heard the officer yelling after her to stop. That was the last thing she meant to do.
She didn't head the same way her friend had taken her, either. She headed down the opposite route, through alley after alley, keeping away from anywhere remotely public. Then, after a few minutes of running non-stop, she finally felt her muscles weakening to the point where she had to stop and rest.
"Ah-..ah..." Her hands stayed at her sides, taking in deep gasps of air, her chest damp with sweat as she caught her breath. This was all too much for her, she was far from athletic after all. After she regained her composure, she slowly looked around the dimly-lit path. She didn't recognize it... adding to the alarming possibility that she had gotten herself very lost.
But it was still favorable to getting arrested. She nodded at that thought, and cast a reluctant look to a door across from her. It was either a home or a business, but whichever it was, there was a faint light coming from within, and the door was left ajar as if beckoning her. As she reached a hand up... she gasped and stumbled back as it swung open.
