I agree that prompt editing syntax is pretty underrated. I don't recommend setting the live preview to 1 though because that'll slow down gens quite a bit. Something like 10 is a good balance.
Get yourself sd-ultimate-upscale or tiled-diffusion/multidiffusion upsaler. Use highres fix and then run it through one of those upscalers at like 0.3 to 0.4 denoising.
Adetailer is good, but learn upscaling first. A lot of issues like eyes fix themselves with a proper upscale treatment.
