Beyond the whole 'magical girls without panties' theme, however, I can think of a few others. Perhaps she's currently 'undercover' or otherwise trying to 'go native' somewhere with minimal ideas about modesty, and upon finding herself in a fight suddenly realizes that it's going to be almost impossible to fight effectively without flashing everybody in sight.
Or maybe as the fight starts she realizes her outfit has been subtly sabotaged specifically to make sure she can't fight effectively.
Or something similar to those, except she's too excited and/or distracted by fighting to notice anything is wrong until afterward.
>>2785764That's a great idea too, although I'd probably start from the premise that "the more skin the wind can reach" is what helps, so the master sorceresses usually wear ordinary baggy clothes or sometimes loose robes, just with nothing underneath. So our mage does the same, but a little more ambitious with a shorter hemline and a nice deep v-neck, and at first she loves the extra power. But then in a real fight she starts to realize her control isn't quite good enough yet, and she's having a really hard time keeping everything in place, and the fight is still getting more serious...
