The gravity of her predicament had not really cemented itself in her mind until she heard the loud snap of the gym door swinging shut and latching behind her. Turning with a start, she grasped at the handle but all of her efforts at budging it were futile. Alone, outside, cold and naked, her heart sank as her home and warm bed felt like it was a thousand miles away. Having lost access to both buildings, her eyes darted back and forth as she tried to come up with any kind of solution until finally settling on the gate beyond the track in front of the main building. No... that was too much!
"NO! I can't possibly walk all the way home like THIS!"
Knowing that there was essentially no other option left to her, she was forced to resign herself to her fate. Tears welled up in her eyes as she slowly began the walk that would take her along populated streets all the while her body was fully exposed to both the frigid air and any onlookers she might happen across. The extreme likelihood of being spotted on the way home both excited and utterly frightened her, but hiding outside on campus all night naked in the cold didn't solve the problem either. At least she would have darkness as an ally on the trip home.
