I said I like seeing what I missed, and I think it can also be true that it is an example of the most outstanding gens and not necessarily a summary. I don't see every image in the thread and it's nice to see a curated list of the very best examples, the cream of the crop. That's what I meant when I said I like to see what I missed. Overlooked images that might have been posted in the middle of some slop that I might have scrolled past.
When I was making highlights, I aimed to highlight about the top 20%, and if you're aiming to highlight like the top 5% that's perfectly fine imo. That means those selected images are probably close to perfect and worth elevating.
Anyway, do what you wanna do but I still appreciate the highlights if you choose to make them. If you don't want to make them, that's ok. I stopped because it's a lot of work and it seemed like a relic from the days when this thread was a heck of a lot slower and needed something unique to stimulate engagement. Re-assessing the role of the highlights in this current environment is a discussion worth having.
