>>2609929Not him, and I disagreed with him already, but I need to say that VNDB can be very wrong. Did you see their FIRST version of the NTR tag that they had kept up and defended as right for years? It specified that people HAD to be dating for it to be NTR, until the community (in their threads) pushed back. Even now, they still tend to be somewhat wrong with a couple of their tags. People need to realize that these sites shouldn't be looked at as perfect sources for everything. They usually are right, not not 100% of the time, and sometimes they leave out key information on tags. My point is, you can cite them, but don't just point to them and say "well VNDB" or "well Ehentai" said so, and that's it. The NTR general in /h/ flat out doesn't cite VNDB or Ehentai because they're tags for the NTR genres were shit 3-4 years ago when the first general were made. It wasn't until I kept making multiple pastebins throughout the year and cited it on the VNDB threads that they finally prompted to change their site's definition of it a bit. Pic related. Now, if you're just calling this guy out for acting like a know-it-all and pretending his own definitions (or the shoddy ones he pulled from ehentai are 100% correct, then we can agree on doing that.
>>2609949VNDB can be very wrong or not specific in places that it needs to be, but it's much more reliable that Ehentai. Ehentai's wiki and tagging system relies on stubborn mods and literal randoms voting on things. It's why the state of NTR doujin searching is so bad, because literally anyone with a high voting power can upvote something that isn't NTR as NTR, or something that is NTR as not NTR. The mods on the forum don't like adding or changing tags unless people throw a fit about it, which is worse than how VNDB's staff do it. VNDB staff will at least let it's community hash it out as they just watch over and do what those users eventually agree to (which is stillkinda bad), while Ehentai just says "no" or "yes"flatout
