I bet you're one of those FLAC audiophiles from /mu/. Aside from transparency there is no reason to save images that large in png format. You know how much you have to zoom in to even find the slightest difference between jpg and png?

look at the pic
left is png, right is jpg (both 3840x2160)
png is ~50mb, jpg is 2mb
When you have a few hundred of these on your disk it makes hell of a difference
