You were the ones that voted for the internet protection back in 2001. So why are you complaining now? After all, internet protection laws were actually part of the announced republican campaign platform for various senators and the Bush Cheney campaign.
Almost every year past 2002 saw new additional laws being added on incrementally since incremental changes were the way to get it past the democrats instead of one huge change.
Enjoy the safe internet. It's going to get safer yet as the ACTA Treaty (also from the republicans) is business friendly and it can be easily used to kill hentai since it requires express (written) proof that you have copyright permission that what you have is legally there. Unlike prior laws which act AFTER posting, ACTA can close your site BEFORE the posting of additional violations under its rule of preventing new violations once past violations have been detected. So, hentai haters can simply report a site. Enjoy your conservative law-abiding internet! Those democrats allow so much intellectual property crime in the past and it is time to put a stop to that - get a republican president again and we can get the Protect Act 2 in; the Justice Department (during Bush) had said that the first Protect Act was only the start and that they had more changes yet to come once the voting climate changes to allow the passing of more laws to improve public safety.
