Ecchi bondage is a controversial and subtly defined topic. Often it can come down to an individual's tastes as to whether they think it belong's or not. I wouldn't say bondage is within the board rules or not, but some pictures can be considered "ecchi" while others are clearly /d/ material. The definition I use for ecchi bondage is thus:
Restraint only. Pictures should not depict more than mild discomfort.
The argument for allowing bondage on /e/ is that people often confuse "bondage" and "BDSM" as the same thing when they are, in fact, different. Bondage simply means physical restraint while BDSM includes domination, sadism, and masochism as well. With this distinction in mind, bondage threads have been welcome on /e/ for years in the form of gift-wrap/present threads also known as ribbon bondage. So bondage can be seen as permissable as long as it doesn't include darker psychological themes. As always, posting such content could result in thread deletion or a ban, but it's arguably allowable.
