Anyway, I seem to have found the light novel in question but even after a year there are no translations nor new scans.
The name of the novel is "Mystic Museum".
From what I gather from the Japanese wikipedia site, it's set in late 19th century London and stars a young Brit named "Dudley" (no, not THAT Dudley) and a young-looking girl called "Alda" who says that she's a goddess.
Dudley is able to see her after staying overnight at the museum one night which surprises her, as she's been dwelling (tied to?) a Goddess statue in the Museum for a long time and nobody had noticed her so far. She decides to follow him around after noticing he can actually see her.
