It is a VERY LEGIT criticism to say that Sacred Blacksmith uses Plot Protection and not just Deus ex Machina. A number of anime shows out there just stick to Deus ex Machina (such as Precure Heartcatch) without shoving plot protection down your throat like Sacred Blacksmith does. It's lazy writing to try to build up excitement and suspense but then the writer realizes it's too much trouble or uses too much time, so he plot protects and deus ex.
