http://playragnarok.com is where to go. It is free to play. Unlike other free to play MMO or MMORPG, you can go far in RO without ever paying a cent. RO also has the third class chars and multiple classes ride different creatures now.
RO is far less wasteful of time than WoW which forces a lot of delays between destinations. The game has expanded a lot and will do more. The original continent has over 1000 maps to fight on though many people never find them, or are too low level to survive there, or are just too scaredy-cat to try (just like some people in FPS) because they hate dying even once.
There are TWO continents and an in-between dimension as introduced some time ago. The Kafra corporation has some competition from some cat people who banded together to form a sort of trading co-op that provides additional services once you get to the world beyond the rift. There are towns and cities beyond the rift with more innovation than you may remember from the old world. The new world has new gears with combo features. But alas, it is nowhere as peaceful as the fabre-filled fields of Geffen.
Ragnarok Online has a friendlier community than WoW; at least that is my impression from playing both. At WoW, someone might act friendly, but are usually just looking to exploit them as a meat shield to get a resource. On RO, the people are generally more sincere about it.
