The only question is if it's necessary. I haven't played around with the new 4chan settings much yet, but I know that when I disabled 4chanX things did seem a lot less... smooth. I used the quick reply but it redirected me to a "post successful" screen instead of just refreshing the thread with my new post appended at the bottom. Clicking images also didn't enlarge them (maybe it does with the proper settings checked?)
If I cared more I would experiment and figure out exactly what the differences are between the two sets of features. Instead, have a thread-relevant image.
