I apologize in advance for my vagueness but I'm nervous about saying "too much."

Little of what's in that pastebin is actually gibberish. If you know any Japanese at all, try sounding it out aloud and it may become clearer.

They are directions on where to find the s-drive address as well as the new p/w hint, each in a different location (but both mention "seiga," so that should start you off). The former is straightforward once you find it, the latter is another hint/direction telling you how to construct the p/w.

Thus far I have been unable figure out the p/w, despite knowing what the instructions say. And it is not a simple anagram like his previous p/w.

See, what you've pasted into the pastebin is entirely in katakana, which is almost never used for actual phrases so google translate just turns it into gibberish. If you retype it in hiragana, you get something resembling the real message.

And incidentally, aikotoba (when written with 合言葉) means "watchword", which in this case is probably idiomatic for "password"

The password isn't actually that hard. It's basically the title of one of the videos in the mylist. Google Translate's conversion to romaji really helps.

Also, the password for the other videos in the skydrive is in the title of a few of the other videos in the mylist.

What do you mean? The format is given in the hints. All lower case romaji. I don't know which video title to be looking at though. The onsen one seems to line up better length-wise, but I don't know if it should be the more frequently occurring title.

in that order. But does that mean that each "segment" should be 10 characters? Because the whole thing can't possibly be 10 characters, since the first segment seems to be 9 digits(3+2+2+2), the blood type is a single latin letter, and I haven't even started looking at possible ways to represent the school name.

I don't have a source, but you could download that video and rip the music from it.. if you know how.

(I use Windows Movie Maker)

You can then run the music file through an online .wav converter, assuming it doesn't come out in .wav format already.

Overall, it is a very short and easy process.

They all work for me.
Try searching by the filenames.
There are videos for Ikaruga, Anise, etc.
Each file on skydrive corresponds to a video on NND with one of the above girls.
Find their names on the filenames of the zip files and search for them on the videos he uploaded to NDD.

No, it's an explanation and apology from the author over the self-erasure of the two videos.
Apparently, they went too far, so the original model creator asked for them to be taken down.
(model creator didn't notice the first video when it came out)

And lastly, the brilliant idea of separating audio and video.
It's situation-based, so if the audio's removed, it just becomes a normal riding video (which is still within boundaries).
And a separate audio-only video would be completely unrelated to it.

BTW, I'm on an awkward predicament.

I downloaded files from FC2, Vimeo and Touko that are over 300, some of them over 400 MB.
That's way too much for videos with less than 4min. I'm running out of disk space.

I'm downsizing some of them from 1080 to 720p, with lower quantizer too. Cut their filesize by 75%, with no noticeable loss.

Anyone else found themselves in the same situation? Are the videos badly encoded to amount such huge filesizes?

When downscaling it, the algorithm fixes most, if not all, the noise and artifacts. The tradeoff is the lost of resolution

The picture on >>1590563 is downscaled AND recompressed, so it gets its own artifacts and noises, unrelated to its source picture here >>1590560

The obvious mistake I made is that if I want to keep the downscaled picture noiseless, I'd have to recompress it losslessly. So, even if it has a lower resolution than its source, it'll have a bigger filesize.

They're both the same length, same resolution and same framerate.

The one on NND has MUCH better compression, lower bitrate and has roughly the same quality as the one on Vimeo.

Nico has a limit of 100mb file size upload, and from my own experience, it doesn't get compressed or converted from what it was originally. Vimeo takes the original file and destroys the quality when it gets re-encoded. The result is likely to be about the same as nico quality once the bitrate gets changed.

Why do you want to downscale anyway? If you are going to keep the same quality, you have to keep all settings the same, aside from the resolution. This likely won't have hardly any effect on the filesize. That is all in the bitrate, and the lower you make that, the worse the end result looks. On top of that, those programs suck. Try using MediaCoder.

Side note: videos ARE pictures. And pictures only compress so far.

Anyway, larger files are necessary for uploading to websites like youtube and vimeo. The higher the bitrate is when uploaded, the better the quality will be when they finish trashing it.
I know that they give the original file for download (for limited time for free uploaders) if the uploader allows it.

The point was nico videos are showing the video as it was when the person encoded it and uploaded. Vimeo does not do this. When Vimeo gets done with it, even though the file is much larger, it will end up looking about the same (or worse normally) as the nico version that was encoded to be smaller file size to begin with. If you notice the other download options, they are all much smaller in file size after having been destroyed. If the same 98mb file that was uploaded as a nice video were instead uploaded to vimeo, then that file would end up looking like garbage.

The file you download from Vimeo is an already encoded file (original or not). You CANNOT increase the quality of this video. What is done is done. You can increase or decrease the resolution, but the file size will remain unless you change the video's bitrates. But doing so will result in less quality. No way around that. The only way to have a perfect quality video is to encode it from the original rendered file from MMD.

I'm just trying to point out that what you seem to be wanting to do is not going to work out the way you want it, with perfect quality.

I rendered a new set of videos for this test. First 1080p, then 720p. I changed NOTHING but the resolution between renders. Both are full length and include sound.

The screen shows everything. Base file size,base video information, settings, and even the results of the two videos once fully encoded.

Of course, the bitrates don't ever come out to exactly what you have it set as with Mediacoder (It is target/max bitrate). But they ended up fairly close to each other on final bitrate. In the end, the 720p ended up about 1.1 MB smaller, and as you can see, it was likely due to the bitrate having been a bit lower.

Need I say more? Or am I about to get slammed with phrases like "You cheated!" and stuff?

I made a mistake in the screenshot, in I didn't refresh the setting window for the 1080p version inside the program. If I need to remake the screen then I will, but the only difference is the resolution size in the preview window.

The difference in size is cause by the lower bitrate of the 720p. I didn't set it to do that, it is just where it ended up at. Resolution does in fact make the original render into a larger file, but for the final result it makes no difference.

Here's the problem. You're not compressing at the same ratio. If you were, your file sizes on the 720p would be a hell of a lot smaller.

Forgot one other thing. Smaller frame sizes require less bitrate to keep image quality. So if you shrink a 1920x1080 video down to 1280x720 it will require less bitrate (hence a smaller file size). You are exchanging resolution for fewer compression artifacts.

Just that the payment failed and that I should use a different card as far as I can make out.

This happened before and it was due to my bank marking the payment as suspicious activity. I fixed that years ago and this is the first time I've had a problem with dlsite since but my bank says it hasn't blocked anything.

First line is the link itself, second line is the password for the upload site, and the last line is the password used when unzipping the files.

The last password uses the characters もみじ.

The downloaded video isn't an uncensored version of sm21202704, but is instead a pole dance sequence involving the younger neko that results in the top portion of her sling bikini falling off 2/3 of the way through.

Ontopic: the comple password is the third line written on the card at the end of the video. If you can't tell that the last four characters on that line are the same as the first two, it's not your keyboard that needs a region upgrade.

For those still stuck, the password is a single set of romanji characters that spells out "momijimomimomi"

mo-mi-ji-mo-mi-mo-mi

も = mo
み = mi
じ = ji

copy the runes, paste over the part of the hyphenated name it belongs to, delete the hyphens and you can copy the result into the password field.

Really, it's not that simple. I can't get this stuff working unless I set my system locale at all, and everything *appears* to be just fine. The files in the zip look fine, the password I'm pasting looks fine, but it doesn't accept the password unless I'm in the Japanese locale. Even AppLocale doesn't work, despite some other pages I saw on Google saying it would. I can't figure this out at all. Worst of all, I can't get anything to extract under linux, either. It's just super annoying.

Then there's your problem.

Enabling the ability to type in moonrunes fixes this problem.

For the advanced users this allows you to enter information in programs that do not use Unicode.

What unzipping program are you using? How is it able to support the unicode formatting? What operating system are you using?
Almost everyone here has to change their system locale to japanese in order to unzip these files. Are you sure you don't?
The whole point of changing the locale is so that the computer can process that japanese characters correctly

I get the mojibake version by creating a text file. Open it with OpenOfficeWriter. Paste Hiragana characters. Save. Open text file with default notepad.

I know. I just told you why that happens and why you need to have your local set to Japanese.

You are pasting unicode text into a non-unicode application. Setting your locale to Japanese allows you to enter unicode text into a non-unicode application.

different user: I used to do this alot in the past with my systems and it was super annoying when you installed programs and would autodetect so installers and program were eternally set in japanese by default with no way to change them to an english interface without doing the switch also again. I think this conversation has sidetracked enough from the original content. The guy just wants a simple way to not change local everytime and there are too many posts saying just just the same thing in reply . move along and post mmd instead :D
