I don't think I'd avoid something just for homoerotic undertones, though, since I watched quite an amount of fanservice-for-females laden shows in the past (Ouran Host Club, Black Butler, Hetalia, some of the classic shonens full of rivals that act more like couples) and wouldn't bat an eye unless/until it started changing the actual show atmosphere. (Or going into outright yaoi genre)
