>>1636442Currently on Episode 3, so I can't say I have much of a base to form an opinion on, admittedly. For the VA'ing, I've found it halfway decent. It's not like Oum can afford to go out and hire Vic the Dick (Met the man, don't care to again.A sleaze and a douche once he drops the professional demeanor) so he can have the quality of American Dub Studios.
As for the models, this is the first I've noticed they even could be MMD models. And only because you mentioned it. Sure, RWBY isn't on-par with anything, say, KyoAni puts out of their studio, but 1) Oum isn't some multimillion-dollar Producer, and 2) it's free. Next, I expect we'll be hearing complaints about 20-30 second ads on Crunchyroll, just to watch a free video stream. As far as RWBY goes, I'm keeping an open mind until I see more of the show. But seriously, folks (This is addressed to all Anons here) don't expect something that the show obviously is not going to be.We had the same type of issues when Haloid was released, talking about how "Science doesn't work that way". So what? It's a sci-fi animation. Sit back and enjoy the show. And now people are expecting Top-Tier Studio-Grade from an animator who mostly does his own work, but is also releasing it for free? Seems like some people you can't satisfy, no matter what lengths you go to.
