Hello Guys!!!, I have come here to ask you all a very important question...

How do you organize your porn????

I decided today as part of my "Spring Cleaning" that I should finally organize all of my pr0n of both hentai and real girls into subfolders like Big Breasts, Blowjob, Stockings etc... however I dont know exactly how many subfolders I should have, like what if one day im in the mood for a petite, big breasted, purple hair chick wearing high heels. Do I check in the big tits folder or the purple hair folder???
Ill post some pictures in the mean time.

I've been struggling with this idea as well op. how do I organize 750 gigs?
I think a database is the best idea I can come up with yet. Catagorized and Searchable based on Tags and/or Ratings. (Something like Danbooru) Tags to include, Artist, Genre, etc..

But it would take so much time and work to categorize or tag each image. holy shit what to do

Here's my method, including acquisition, and its worth noting I run a few Bulk Image Downloaders (BID). I don't really fap to pics, more collect to the quality of Imagery that's makes it online, but the system should work for everyone; I'm a Heavy Gamer and Gym rat, so I don't spend alot of time on this either (a few hours, maybe 2-3 days a week).

• Storage Structure :

• Download
• Save Files to Keep by Category (A:Anime vs B:Real)
• IQDB (Google, IQDB, etc) to get high res or related content
• Content that's "Found" gets renamed to "artist_name.char_name.index"
• Note : Use "UNK" when artist OR char can't be found
• Note : IQDB for Yande.re, Gel/Danbooru have been helpful with Artist/Character, but not perfect.

• Much harder to find proper HD/RAW content and information.

• I don't do movies or comics, but "title.site" or "title.main_actress" or "company.title" ??

• Content that cannot be found, it gets placed in the serialized folder :

• Note : Content is still serialized, even when their maybe be obvious characters or styles present. (I like to confirm).
• Example : Image of "asuna_yuuki" or "haruhi_suzumiya" without trademark appearance (clothes, headband, etc) will be left in serialization.
• If you have a signicant amount of content to start, you can run powershell to find duplicates through MD5 ContentHash to Trim it down before starting. It does take some time tho.

It sounds like a lot of work, but not really... Google supports drag&drop and IQDB pulls results straight to the page.

~\pr0n\m - manga, doushinji.
~\pr0n\o - other formats, like video and webm.
~\pr0n\sauce - sauce folder.
~\pr0n\u - yuri folder.
~\pr0n\w - western stuff.
~\pr0n\web - when I use DownThemAll. I usually never come back anyway.

Folders may have a character or sfw folder inside.

And it doesnt work the way I thought it did. I can tag images, but the point of tagging is to search among tags right? Well a search for ass and kashiwazaki sena is not sonething that can happen, it searches one or the other but not both.

Am I doing something wrong?

I think I should reorganize my 17.8GB (lots of hentai manga and a few videos):

Subfolders for whatever fits. Ethnicity/model for /3/, original work, etc.

I guess the best stuff just gets copied to ./.

Type (/e/, /h/, /3d/, /d/, /u/ etc)
-> Folders named by themes or so, like milfs\christmas cakes, bikini-swimsuit, lingerie, clothed, unclothed, muscular, romantic, general\uncategorised etc.
-> Subfolders per character, sometimes per artist and in case of very large folders, per theme or setting as well like bikini-swimsuit -> ass or bikini-swimsuit -> topless. notes.txt at the bottom for general notes, artists names, specific notes about certain folders since I can't remember everything etc.

Sometimes it's annoying to figure out where to save a picture if it fits multiple criteria of folders but hence the general folder which can be organised later.

Just my grain of sand, if it is important to organize your porn, use databases. You can make each image have attributes such as hair, skin color, breast size, etc. And you'd learn something useful in the process.

Use XAMPP and MySQL Workbench. You can learn from them at w3c for free.

I keep everything in a one big ol' pr0n folder, but name my pictures with tags.

Seems to be working so far. Saving things is a bit of a pain. And when I'm OPing a thread searching for my tag isn't quite as convenient as dumping a pre-prepared folder.
But I haven't run into any overlap or gone hunting in any nested folders yet. So there's that.

I have all my images in one folder (separate from webm, gifs, and other file types). I've wanted to tag everything up for a long time but never looked into the best tagging system or what would be easiest/most compatible.

I've focused most of my organization on H anime and movies. Everything is on a recently built NAS with 1 TB (going to expand to 4 TB at some point) for easy streaming/browsing on other devices.

Organizing is such a slow process when the stuff I'm organizing ends up arousing me within a few minutes, though.

Organizing by fetish is too much for me. Hell, saving random pictures of artists is also too much for me. For that kind of thing I just bookmark their blogs and such.

For manga and doujinshi, I have a Backlog and Archive folder with sub-folders for Tankōbon, Doujinshi, Raws, and One Shots/Stray Tank chapters. Files are named in an "Artist - Title" format, and everything is in zip files for use with CBXShell which gives me thumbnails for .zip and CDisplayEx for reading.

My porn folder used to be called "BAT" and was marked hidden.

And I wrote a Perl script to add a DVD with the name of the files to my database and find the file I want.
