Now, you already mentioned you prefer 4chan as a source to the boorus. But here's the thing, 4chan isn't a source. /e/ is like a circulatory system. It distributes and material from elsewhere on the internet into one place.
So while you could make due getting all your pictures from 4chan, you'd greatly benefit from having a booru in your toolkit as well.
If you don't like wading through medium-quality pictures, try registering for Pixiv as well.
