Also you find out that she's older than 40 and has a son and a daughter, the son becomes your sort-of rival and her daughter gets a crush on you before leaving for Kanto. And their father lost his memories after a wormhole experiment and now runs a chain of islands where the Pokemon in your PC chill out.
Pretty cool game.
