I mean, yes is hard to generalize a fetish but there is like 2 or 3 kind of mind set for each fetish.

For example, big breasts, I can expline you why I like it: visually is appealing to me because I like curves and rounded shapes, this is why I also like wide hips, or even clothes that accentuate the bodyparts (this also looks better with big boobs).

Then we can go with the touch, I like my hand filled wen I grab any part, legs, ass, and in this case boobs.

This are my reasons, I can't talk for everyone who likes big boobs, but some will agree with some of my reasons.

For me it's about aesthetics. I feel like a small chest fits better with the overall curvature of a woman's body, and hueg titties look like they were just tacked on as a feature separate from the body shape as a whole.

I'm a short guy (Irish) so I like short/petite women. However, missile-tits on a petite body frame look like boobjobs, at best and unnatural, at worst. A small c-cup is about the biggest you can get on a petite frame without starting to look odd.

If you want to observe this phenomenon in the microcosm of a single character, just look at Maria's forms in Shinmai Maou no Testament. Both forms are hot, but the wider hips and the bigger bust just work better for her after she's gained quite a bit of height. Slap those same features on her smaller form, and it'd just look weird.

Actually, yes I can. It's all got to do with our evolution. Men are "hardwired" to be attracted to certain physical traits of women because those traits are ideal for raising a child. We evolved that way because it was beneficial to the species.
For example, large breasts make it easier for the baby to suck on them, and can also hold more milk, so we evolved to be attracted to it because they can better support raise your child.

The fact that you're attracted to flat chests means that you're just a bad mutation that should be eliminated for the better of our species.

Both things are false. Since the difference in breast size is 100% due to fat, they are functionally not better, and in fact many women with large breasts have difficulties breast feeding. Large breasts do not have more or bigger mammary glands.

Large breasts are not in any way beneficial to the species, in fact they are provably bad for the mother's health. Back problems, breast cancer, and so on.

So actually, it really is just a fetish.
