It's not like I blame you, I've encountered countless pretentious ass losers who seem to associate everything they hate with that website, whether there's a real relation or not.
But if it makes you feel better, the only places I encounter those pretentious ass losers are 4chan and YouTube comments. Maybe I'm not big on other mentioned places like 9gag or whatever. But if you pull yourself out of that circle and browse the broader part of internet, you'll see that social networks and forums on the other hand are full of people who use "le" out of affection, without figuring out that it's associated with one website or another.
