For starters, I'd say that tasteful has to do with the quality of the art. Quality art, to me, has a lot of love put into it. This means a fully composed piece,, with the subject in mostly or fully executed space, not just a figure on a plain background. It means the subject is doing something g or expressing something, even if it's just being deep in thought, not just lying there with legs apart or standing there with convenient censoring. It means time put into light and shadow, not just a flat color with a highlight color and a shade color.
I know this is going out there a little, but I think tasteful means doing g something that makes it stand out, somehow. I think a lot of poses get boring. Doing something with the subject's hair is always fun. I often find that more detail is almost always better (and no, this usually doesn't mean an excruciatingly detailed close-up of the subject's genitals). That said, I often find convenient censoring annoying:. If she's naked, let her be naked, don't do silly tricks with arms and hands and draping fabrics. Iic related does this with the subject's hair, but I like it a lot anyway.
