I'm working with three years of highschool-level Japanese, and an old Japanese grammar book. As a result, I still can't speak Japanese for shit, and my EN > JP translations are riddled with mistakes, but I'm confident enough in my JP > EN translations.
I do transcribe pages and run the text through DeepL/Bing, but only to cross-check my own translations for any stupid mistakes or common expressions I might have been unaware of. I've also been doing translation work on Sad Panda for over a year, so my typesetting should at least be up to par.
