>>2505976>>2505891Btw, the history of the elf-drow conflict is far more complicated than that.
The drow had more than one culture: the Eilistraean nation of Miyeritar, and Ilythiir, devoted to Vhaeraun and Ghaunadaur.
It was Lolth herself who attempted a coup against Corellon, not the drow, and she was banished for that (alongside Vhaeraun. Eilistraee chose exile too, as she saw a time when the drow would need her by their side, and that she couldn't be there for them from Arvandor). Lolth became forgotten by the drow of Toril. They followed Vhaeraun, Ghaunadaur, and Eilistraee in a nation called Ilythiir. Eilistraee tried to stop Vhaeraun's and Ghaunadaur's influence from corrupting the drow, but she was alone, Corellon and the Seldarine outright ignored her, and she was defeated and hunted away. She and her people went to live with the elves, but later fled due to persecutions, and founded Miyeritar.
The worst started when an elf-made cataclysm mistakenly exterminated a lot of Vhaeraunites, giving Lolth's cult a chance at emerging in Ilyhiir.
Even then, the general population of Ilythiir, wasn't really corrupted. They were farmers and workers. It was the ruling clans who started to make deals with Lolth and her demonic servants.
Meanwhile, the sun elves in Aryvandaar did the same, but with a fallen angel. Since the dark elven Eilistraean nation of Miyeritar had grown into a great hub of magic and arts, Aryvandaar attempted to conquer it. When they saw that the Miyeritari would keep resisting, they literally magic-nuked the nation, exterminating the vast majority of Eilistraeans, and reducing the goddess herself to collapse.
The Ilythiiri retaliated and asked for the power to face such an enemy (power which came in the form of demons sent by Lolth, Vhaeraun, and Ghuandaur).
