The court has shown little sway with the "artistic freedom" argument.

There is an ongoing battle with "freedom of speech" being the main weapon of choice. And even though drawings don't directly harm children, the argument is that these kinds of drawings can normalize the sexualization of children, and lead people to view children in a sexual way.
I dug a lot trying to find out if there's any way to own this stuff legally.
The laws may change in the future, but for now it is very definitively illegal to own hentai depicting minors.
