An artist drawing a character thick is just them appealing to a fetish like any other, there's people who are into it and there's nothing wrong with that. Even that artist himself has drawn Gloria and Marnie with a completely different set of thinner proportions, almost like fanart isn't limited by anything and an artist can draw more than one body type.
