There is a dedicated board for discussion of 3d modeling and work. /e/ is a board for ecchi anime related contents. A lot of the discussion in these threads is plain off topic. Asking for help with work belongs on /3/. The issue is that these off topic garbage threads keep getting bumped to page 1 meaning my thread or threads can't stay at the top of page 1 for longer than few minutes. And it's only really an issue with these trash threads. They would be better off elsewhere. I know /3/ has rules adult content but help with technical stuff that gets spammed here should go there. I don't think that will make any huge difference which is precisely why I didn't say anything like that. My threads get bumped themselves. My issue is that they don't stay at the top of page 1 for long enough because these two cgshit threads are being needlessly bumped with off topic /3/ related discussion every few minutes. Not really. 3d isn't anime styled. Being 2d is a core defining characteristic of the anime style. Anime is 2D and none of the stuff here are live 2D models. You can copy the big eyes, colorful hair and the block shading in 3d but it only takes you so far. It never really, truly looks anime style.

He wasn't complaining about them getting slid. He was specifically complaining about them not remaining right on the very top spot on page 1 for long enough when they're bumped. Compare the before/after shots. It seems like magic but it's mostly fakery. All of the nice features like shadows are manually added in textures and the like.
The image seems more 2D, flattened because of the gradient overlay and rimlight, same as your example.
Anything can be made to look good, including 3D. You do however need to spend time making the model work in its very specific scenario, there's no automating that step. Just as drawing in 2D is manual, so too is painting/compositing in 3D.

With /mmd/ and /doa/ however there is more to it. Modeling, guides etc.. or other technical discussion of how to should really be on /3/. I see no reason as to why this can't go there when anons can just censor the images or link them outside. This seems more sensible since most of the /mmd/ threads at least have a significant amount of off topic bumping. I.e people bumping the thread to discuss work as opposed to posting images.

I scanned the Honey Whip [updated] Miku. It's okay I guess. It doesnt capture my attention.
+: Surprisingly the torso is complete, you could fit nips/vag on there without too much issue, if you like the overall appearance. All the facial expressions are done with bones, thats always nice to see. Its got an impressive FX folder, seems like its set up for "LukeSakurai Shader", most materials have normal maps and individual material properties specified, but I can't be assed to load the whole thing in MMD and see how it looks at its best.
-: Its missing elbows and everything below the thigh. The naming and organization throughout the model, and throughout the files, is trash... nearly half the textures are duplicates or unused, and they're all named with just numbers. He tried to add semistandard armtwist but fucked it up. A few textures are missing, wonder how he messed that up. All the folders are flagged as "hidden", as though that would stop anyone. And the best part is, he tried to use a PMX locker thingy to change the magic bytes, but that doesn't even stop my PMXE lol
I just like laughing at rippers who don't put any love or care into their products

A very hacky automation for PMXEditor to save down previews of loaded files.
Install by extracting into your PMXEditor folder, run using PmxPreviewRunner somePath, or just drag-drop a folder onto the exe.
Previews appear in the same folder as the input files.
Dumps viewport into a PNG so if your model is very large or very small it may not fit. This can be fixed but I've lost my mind a few times with this extremely internal happy codebase so far.
Source code included, you can also read it using a decompiler such as dnSpy.
Let me know if it works for you or areas for potential improvements.

I just finished repairing the Hibana stage that was ripped by josuemmd13 and HOLY FUCK I hate him. I hate that he could release it to others when it was so obviously unfinished. Nothing has names, there's unused geometry everywhere, he put the frames of the audience gif in a RANDOM ORDER, and he put a handful of FX in there with no explanation of how to use them. All problems that I have fixed. Hopefully the others are a bit easier to untangle.

I have the model converted, but since the hair came as 3 separate fbx in the unitypackage, i had to export the model hairless as the pmx exporter seems to only work on humanoid modles as far as i know. I did put the 3 hair fbx into blender an convert it them to pmx but you have to resize it and and connect it to the correct bone(s) and add the texture i'm too lazy to do all that for a pretty generic model, if anyone wants to finish it off, feel free. http://tstorage.info/qi6fov3tqoyi

also the booth page says there is a vrm, if you have it ,the vrm to pmx converter might do a better job then me.

the head doesn't look that different, she just has her eyes crossed, she even has her eyebrows just pink colored. it must be the toon shader it's using that gives that different look

Relatively new to mmd and raycast effect and trying to setup Mister's Bremerton model's custom effects. I put them into the folder, but when trying to load the effect onto the "material" tab it just gives me an error for trying to load the effect and trying to open the file "material_common_2.0fxsub". For anyone sharing unitypackages, if you got them from sanctuary then they're likely infected with loggers.
unitypackages are essentially compressed tar files. You can rename them to .tgz or .gz and examine them without executing them through the unity editor. The directory path and filenames of each asset is stored in 'pathname' per file.

Supposing you've picked up a package that typically shouldn't have any dlls like a 3d model, the presence of VRCSDK dlls in them would suggest they've been tampered with.
