you can post off topic material in any thread you choose and it may not wind up being deleted just because it may not be worth the time for users to report it and for moderation to decide on the reports to delete it
boards like this are so small in traffic that they typically rely on self moderation, the users should know better what belongs and what does not
but this is still factually low quality, low effort, and on a board focused on quality art, you'll find more disdain for it than praise
be as obstinate about it as you want though, just when people point out that it's crap, you might have to accept that you're a minority for liking it and maybe you're out of place
