Well unfortunately the OP broke the rules and essentially made an /r/ thread, but this subject interests me so I'm going to post in it in the vein hope that others will contribute.

Rather than say "unexpected", I'll clarify that it's manga and/or anime that had no nudity for a long time and suddenly introduced nudity at a later date/volume/chapter.

"Jaianto Ojosama" is an ecchi giantess manga, but didn't start teasing nipples until Volume 6.

I can understand genderbenders not being your thing, and I have no stock on you reading it or not. But I will say that the genderbender tag is kinda diff in this case. Those who know know.

It's more of a psychological kinda manga desu. I liked it at the time and probably thought it was an 8/10, but thinking back it's probably only a 6 or 7/10 read.

For me, ot was Ranma 1/2. A couple friends on MSN had Ranma profile pictures on MSN messenger. I was 14 years old. One of them was this impish hispanic kid who had this image as his profile picture. Great point about her being the FMC, you're completely right the FMC typically has protection from any nudity, but when it happens it makes it that much better.

I remember seeing someone called nekomate14 made some decent nude edits of a few of the end cards of Shimoneta, unfortunately not all of them though.
It is completely baffling that an uncensored version of all of them were never released, a real shame too because the art style of the boobs and nipples is so well done, one of my favorites.

I probably can't show it here since it's technically furry, but I didn't expect to see the fox nipples in High School Inari Tamamo-chan. It's an otherwise completely tame slice-of-life cute girls doing cute things series which suddenly got lewd special bonus chapters. The first one was an obligatory public bath chapter, but the later ones were things like the little sister fox become a magical girl and getting her clothes ripped off by a giant oni followed by getting her tits licked by it's giant tongue. This is the only page I could find of the bath chapter that focused on the human characters. They don't show the human nipples though, just the fox nipples.

The concept of canonical nudity is so interesting and funny to me, it makes that short scene into such an alluring and satisfying fap. Why does it even matter? One of the great things about anime girls is that you can draw them any way that what you want, and it's obviously just as fictional as the source material. And yet it matters. There has been a very few fan service scenes in Nisekoi so far but since it's a shonen jump manga I didn't really expect Raku to witness Chitoge entirely naked in the Onsen during the school trip to the mountain.

From "Henkyou no Roukishi - Bard Loen", Chapter 58. It's about a traveling knight in the twilight of his years. This is the first instance of nudity in the manga. The character shown initially bathed while clothed, but later becomes completely free and uninhibited. Up until she was introduced, there were no female companions on the knight's journey, so there wasn't even a hint of the possibility of female nudity in the manga up to that point...never mind that she would be presented like that.

the bakemonogatari manga has quiete a few nip slips but I've read the physical and don't have the pages on hand, can't be arsed to search them up but I reccomend as a rare modern ecchi shonen series that actually manages to be sexy

Kuro Kuro Black Chronicle was heavily ecchi since its first chapter, tits and ass everywhere so it doesn't count for this thread. However it was weird that in the very last chapter you just get an enemy, a male character and the female lead gang raped.
