The amazing thing about shimapan is despite being so iconic you could put it in a pokedex, there's no exoteric link between the characters who choose to wear it. Each of them has been selected by an alien force outside time to be part of this secret club which even the members don't know about. I feel like if someone could gather all shimapan wearers into one place a great mystery would be uncovered.
