Also, Akamatsu made that manga as a petty way to shit on Ah! My Godness! as he openly said that he hated the overly sugary relationship between Keichi and Belldandy, sp he created Kaitaro and Naru as some not so veiled expies to shit on them by default.
The rest of Akamatsu's stories follow the same formula of having dysfunctional relationships and generic characters where the fanservice carries the volumes over and over again- personally I believe that guy could have done way better if he limited himself to draw while other people wrote the stories for him- his art is really good after all.
