>>3008660I like all mamas, but something I think makes her work (aside from being pretty) is that she dismisses her daughter's concerns, maybe because it's been normal for her to see caroline naked when she was little (C can surely sense that infantalization, which you can feel in their physical contrast too - it's another kind of embarrassment), and authoratitavely valuing caroline's physical comfort over her social comfort as mothers all do. They're very relatable dynamics. I also get a slight sense of pride, like "my daughter may have a disability but she won't let that stop her!", and a patient but exhasperated desire to actualise that by taking her out all the time.
