>>824171So why would killing DOOMVA be such a important goal for Fluxxo? Important enough to sacrifice his adopted son to see that through?
Ultimately from what I can tell, Fluxxo looks to punish those callous, cruel, or views others lives like a game which comes out during Fluxxo's R3. The knight, the king, even Giggles' dad. All these people in positions of power and authority playing with lives and demanding their obedience and entertainment for the trouble. DOOMVA slots perfectly into the final category, as any CRAB tournament involves playing with the lives of its participants in exchange for some wondrous wish that many CRABs would do anything for. Clovis, notorious asshole as he was during the tournament, was killed as recompense for killing Shits and being in general a xenophobic murderous prick. M4TRON, an instrument of DOOMVA's and obstacle to CUM's completion (as well as canonical destroyer of lives over the Stowaway's side story) is also punished twicefold by CUM, being explicitly raped by tentacles and Fluxxo personally beating her ass at the end of the tourney.
It's a very big flashy narrative explosion and ends with DOOMVA dead and Debbie inheriting the GM mantle given of the remaining staff she was, I think, the only one who wasn't visibly shown getting dipped in death goo or put through the trauma conga line like M4TRON. And it's here where Fluxxo's hubris rears its head and bites him squarely on the ass.
There's something kind of poetically funny in Debbie, being senselessly tormented and victimized both during her interview and during the CUM rebellion takes the opportunity with her boundless inherited power to parrycounter the Misfits' bad ending Wish right into Fluxxo's face whilst weaving a happier ending for the other participants of the tournament. Fluxxo's petard ended up being his capriciousness; through the chaos and vacuum of the magic vacuum being deposed he unwittingly set up a downfall not just for himself but his co-conspirators.
