worldbuilding on hosts and more of what the deal with Prosper is
something i got asked is if parents aware of hosts would avoid giving their kid themed names as a result.
the answer to that is that the magical entity possessing that child has all control over it and its surroundings, making it so that the existence of hosts doesn't occur to them and the themed name seems like the perfect most agreeable option in a convenient series of events. reality warping, basically.
having a themed surname doesn't make you any more or less likely to have a host child, as not all parts of the name need to be related to their designation (e.g. Prosper Erisichton Chenille, the matter eater, has a surname for caterpillars and a middle name for king Erisichton in greek myth, but the name Prosper has nothing to do with that theme)
another thing I got asked is what happens when the entity within a host emerges naturally.
this occurs when the host faces a natural death (i.e. not deliberately murdered - the others can be adjusted by changing fate) but from there nobody really knows, as nobody had stalked a host long enough to find out.
Some theorize that they're like a larval form of new or replaced gods. Some theorize that they just become magic and the energy is released into the world in a more natural, stable way. Others suggest that they are how lesser deities are born.
