It's been suggested that the demon existed before Hansel, but originally the intent was when I first made the concept that it was literally Hansel turning into a demon that created the alter ego (as opposed to Dorothy, who was just possessed). The fact he turned into such a troublesome and hard to get rid of demon was actually unexpected and not usually what happens when someone eats the Demonic hot sauce, Blenny just got unlucky with Hansel.
I'm okay with there being some connection with some ancient ancestor, but I do prefer if Demon Hansel himself is still a Hansel, otherwise it takes a bit away from his character if it's entirely someone else's personality just taking over his body like a puppet.
