Melvin Mulberry is a closeted shut-in with anxiety and very few friends, but whose persistence and strong work ethic carried him beyond academic expectations to pursue his passion for making drinks instead, now running a fairly successful solo brewery.
The main reason people don't really like him that much is because he's abrasive to pretty much everyone he meets, often insulting people or generally not wanting to be around them, but once you get to know him he's very nervous and empathetic. He often doesn't even mean the insults he spews, but his anxiety tends to manifest itself as anger, and he's kind of accepted for himself that he's just destined to be alone. He used to smoke weed to try deal with it
He loves making drinks like potions and various liquors and regrets nothing about his job though. He's happier where he is now than where he was before, he's just socially unfulfilled.
