Original creator of Melville here, I just found out through a /co/ thread that this is somehow still going on, so that's pretty cool.
Also, I checked the previous thread and noticed there's some confusion (from like 3 months ago) about Melville's hair and ethnicity, so I'd like to give my 2 cents about it.
>I don't even know if Melville is black, or latino or both it's never been fully established
I originally drew Melville with the idea of him being latino, particularly Peruvian, I very clearly remember googling "Peruvian people" and using that as a source for his skin color.
>more of a buzz cut than a crew cut, since it fully matches his round head.
I can see how it could look like that, but my original intention was that he simply had very neatly combed hair, kinda like pic related, I blame my lack of artistic skills for not making that more obvious, the fact that the original drawing of Melville was rushed because the thread was about to die didn't help.
Again, pretty cool that this is still going on, don't know if I'll contribute anything, but at the very least I'll stick around and lurk for a while.
