so today was ganpati chaturthi aka Ganesh's Birthday
and i just realized that ganesh is like a video game mascot from the sonic era
like this guy has an animal head a comic relief side kick named mooshak who was like a bad man and got punished by turning into a rat
he even has a favourite food modak a type of sweet
its even funnier cuz the whole celebration was apparently popularized in the british raj era to "unite the different castes in hinduism" with a public festival
it was done to passive aggressively build a nationalistic sprirt amongst the populace
hell ganesh even has straight to TV badly animated movies about him
i think theres a real funny parallel
