i never involve myself in my works, as that's not how i experience life in the first place. i like making people different to myself to explore different or new ideas. since my experience in life is depersonalized anyway, i have the most fun keeping my works distant from my real self. is everyone who's made a serial killer oc a danger to society? is any of junji-ito's works an autobiography? am i gay or homophobic? or are all of these people just making characters that are interesting to them or their setting?
"you made a crossdresser oc therefore you are a trans woman" is a stupid conclusion to draw from that information when, in the same exact story, i've made a character who hurled insults at him, and the same setting where i gave both of those characters friends and success in their own lives later on. it's too much of a hassle to try to psychoanalyze everyone who's ever written a story based on what you think it represents when, in all likelihood, it represents nothing at all. if you've ever made a character that wasn't a self-insert you'd understand.
