It's also based in Lu Tian from Kengan Omega, a decent fighting manga that turned into shit mind broking a considerable amount of anons.
Bugbear poisons himself to enter into berserk mode, that's when he does that face. Also the "poisoning himself" thing is a reference of how Kengan is considered by many as brain poison.
