>>659054>>659055Cool. Reminds me of a short story I read by Ray Bradbury. I hadn't even remembered that story until I saw these.
The chapter was called "The City", and it was part of a book called "The Illustrated Man".
Spoilers inbound: essentially, human astronauts far into the future manage to stumble upon the remains of an ancient forgotten city on some distant, abandoned planet. But as they explore the ruins, something is clearly watching them.
As it turns out, the only remaining sentient life on the planet and in the city is a super-AI that was tasked by an alien race to get revenge on their behalf... an alien race that was genocides by ancient humans millenia ago, long before recorded history. But the AI remembers. So it ambushes and disects and disects the humans, removes their innards, and puts itself in their bodies as horrible flesh puppets. Then sets a course for Warth, to finally enact revenge for it's extinct creators, against the descendants of their enemies.
Sorry for long post. I'm a little drunk.
Great drawings OP.
