I think everyone is well aware that it's not exactly capturing the art trend of the time. It's a buzzword I use to help easily describe my inspiration as, well, I was inspired by media that came out in the early 2000s, which incorporate similar stylings.

My art isn't exactly capturing it to a T, but I like creating stuff that has a similar vibe to it. I also like to experiment and incorporate other stuff that inspires me, which help me improve my art and making something that's more of my own thing.

So TLDR; It's not exactly y2k, but it helps influence my work, hence why I use the term.

Because all the cartoons and artwork created for that game was directly inspired by the same sources: 90's and 2000's nickelodeon cartoons.(power puff girls, dexter's laboratory, my life as a teenage robot, clone high, fairly odd parents) Which is itself an homage to 1950s animation. It is stile a timeless style for cartoons that has nothing to do with the year 2000.

To get back on track, this character is part of a game project I wanna do where it's a wrestling-themed fighting game. I've been meaning to try out more "dynamic posing" and playing with color (like doing highlights), but it still has some issues. I could do better

These characters posted up here are unused designs that I made for a company. I decided to line the sketches I did.

The one that was picked was a combination of the 1st guy on the far left and the second to last character toward the right.

Not sure if the pitch ever went through. Haven't gotten word back since I finished it last November. Very fun experience, however.

Here's the design process.

For round 1, I was given a mood board of what they wanted where the client asked for a "retrofuturistic Sci-Fi Scout/Explorer"

They picked character 4 and asked me to explore the design some more. They specifically wanted me to remove the hair, though.

8 was ultimately chosen, most likely due to how "ambiguous" the design was. Lack any real gender-defining features.

(That being said, I like the 3rd one from round 1 the most lol)

I just prefer mine to achieve that Danny Phantom, Sarah Bellum, Kim
Possible look but with more geometric awareness. It seriously irritated
me seeing head rotations skip frames growing up. You knew they didn't
