julian was never meant to be the focus, even his own story. the initial idea was for him to be an antagonist with the backstory going pretty much untold by anyone other than himself.
that said, the one i leave as 'present day' nowadays is somewhere in his Chaos Period as opposed to the previous plan of having him complete that - i like to keep him malleable. he is a RP character more than anything, though.
my main project is an average guy being transported into a wizard world and rediscovering beauty in the mundane of the world we live in. genuinely! it's a topic i'm passionate about. the lovecraftian stuff only comes in with the background squabbling godspawn worldbuildingwise because 1. i find it fun to make and add at least a little large-scale horror and 2. the idea of that universe being alive is fun,
but it's not going to be a tragedy (i don't like reading those). i still gotta worldbuild though (and come up with more stuff for other chapters)
