Currently studying for my CFI - anyone got some questions I could answer for practice's sake? Both legitimate questions and just important/tricky practice questions would be appreciated.
>>1635544No, he doesn't. Logbook fraud is alarmingly common. I can't even count the number of times other pilots and even my own instructors have encouraged me to pad my logbooks and flight times in one way or another.
>>1634380https://www.icao.int/MemberStates/Member%20States.Multilingual.pdfMost countries are ICAO member states and offer internationally-recognized training/licenses. But generally speaking the US is one of the cheapest places to learn to fly.
>>1630603>My cfi killed the attitude indicator and hsi on an ils approach and I actually got a little lost for the first time ever. Shits hardHow did you handle it, if I may ask? And what other equipment did you have?
>>1629597I wouldn't stress too much. Most BFRs are fairly laid-back, even if they should be taken a bit more seriously. Expect the session to be every bit as much review/instruction as it is evaluation. Even if your proficiency is lacking, the worst that can happen is that you are denied the endorsement (and hopefully given an explanation of what you need improvement with).
Study your Part 91 regs, and try to take the BFR in an aircraft you're comfortable with. Odds are you won't even be challenged much. It's not a check-ride.
>>1629375IR was a big wake-up call for me. I skated through my PPL and multiple ratings, with rather poor knowledge instruction. Managed to squeak through the instrument written with largely rote-level knowledge but nobody had ever actually explained to me why things were the way they were. As a result I bombed my first instrument oral. Hard.
Make sure you understand how airspace and the ATC system is structured. How VFR and IFR fit together. It will illuminate why a lot of the regulations are the way they are.
