i think if you live in new york there's still a weird group you could join and race and run redlights and get killed, but like, if you like fixed gear bikes i don't think there's anything stopping you from just riding one. to me its just a bike not a lifestyle...
i just got started riding bikes as a hobby and my local road bike shop seemed confused why i wanted to ride fixed, but helped me anyway. he told me here in japan they're pretty rare, but i think that's also part of the appeal too. it's quirky and unique right?
anyway, who fucking cares just ride ya wierdo bike and have fun
