An old higher end 105 5800 group would be good too if you can get one on sale. Just don't buy something with old claris, old sora or old tiagra.
Also, don't get a road bike with triple chainrings, you want a double crank only.
You're probably looking at an aluminium frame + carbon fork. Don't get a bike with an aluminium fork or a hiten steel fork. A steel bike would be good too, as long as it's not hiten steel. You might find a 4130 bike that would be good.
Wheels are another area where a cheap bike might cut costs and make it not worthwhile.
