They are also at a higher danger of running out of power if they get stuck (like in traffic or road closure because of an accident, etc), especially if they have the ac or heating running. During very cold temperatures the batteries can stop working, this has happened in cold climates. They also catch fire sometimes while charging, and since it's a chemical fire the firefighters can't even extinguish it. In Germany there were three cases in 2021 where an entire battery bus depot burned down because one single battery bus caught fire and it spread to all the other battery buses. And there aren't even that many battery bus depots.
The city of Winterthur recently did a study which concluded that converting additional lines to hybrid trolleybus operation was cheaper than converting them to battery bus operation.
