>>1099912A 12-stop extension further west into Piraeus from Neo Faliro/SEF to Akti Poseidonos is currently under construction. Expected to open in 2018, both T3 and T4 will serve this extension.
The extension will split into one-way routing with tracks running 600m apart at the widest. Tracks on the eastern section are split by Poseidonos Avenue (major roadway) and the tracks of M1. A short double-track section will lead up to the terminus, Akti Poseidonos.
Outbound trams will have a future connection to M3 at Dimotiko Theatro; it is expected to open in 2020. There is also a planned connection to M1 with inbound trams at Kaminia, an infill station.
