I was adjusting my derailleur and pulled too hard on the shifter. This caused the cable end to pull out of the locking groove and get jammed. It took me some time to pull the thing out and now the shifter won't shift.
The big lever will pull and make clicky noises, but wont shift. The small lever wont move at all. On releasing from the shift there's some sort of scraping/resistance.
I disassembled part of it to where I can see the shifting action. The spring that controls the ratchet seems fine but nothing appears to actually be pushing the gear afterwards.
Is it worth taking to a bike shop or is it dead already?
