http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5629911/Nurse-Southwest-Airlines-flight-tells-tried-save-mother-sucked-out.html?mrn_rm=als1Isn't it strange that everyone, thousands of people fly, worrying about the seat price, the fuel surcharge, the amenities, but very little people think about the make of the plane and its safety record, when it was last inspected, and in the case of prior incidents with the suicide pilot or drunk pilots, the flight record of who's in charge. If it weren't for Sully at Hudson and now Tammy on this Southwest flight, someone who has gotten used to letting the autopilot do most work could have been helpless when something goes awry like this.
I'm so terrified of flying. I like being on the train (not the subway, but surface trains) and I like being on ferries, but trans pacific cruises are overcrowded, seats on flighters are hard to get, and there are still pirates, storms, and sharks at sea.
